Hey Peoples!! SOOoooo....I got my E.L.F. order in yesterday and I can't begin to tell you how excited I was. Lol Yah...I'm pathetic like that and get excited over small things. ANYWHO! I've been jonesing for some E.L.F. goodies ever since my wonderful sister-in-law gave me a shimmering facial whip to try out. I've been holding off for a while now just so I could get a good sale, since I missed the 75% off one back in August. So they finally had a 50% off of their Studio and Mineral lines, so of course I took advantage. I was a little scared at first since I've heard many people say their shipping is REALLY slow and sometimes they leave out products you ordered. But all in all I gotta say, I was impressed! I placed my order Thursday, October 29th and I got a shipping confirmation the very next morning. It took about 4 days of transit, but that could have been due to the weekend, and luckily I got everything I ordered. Nothing missing and nothing broken. Here is the stuff I ordered:
E.L.F. Studio High Def. Powder (Top)
E.L.F. Studio Translucent Powder (Bottom Left)
E.L.F. Studio Complexion Perfection (Bottom Right)
E.L.F. Studio Bronzer in Golden (Top Left)
E.L.F. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder (Bottom Left)
E.L.F. Studio Blush in Candid Coral (Top Right) & Tickled Pink (Bottom Right)
E.L.F. Studio 11 Piece Brush Set & E.L.F. Studio Powder & Complexion brushes
E.L.F Studio Daily Brush Cleaner, E.L.F. Studio Kabuki face brush
E.L.F. Blending Eye brush
E.L.F. Shimmering Facial Whips (My Favs) in Citrus, Golden Peach, Lilac Petal (top row)
Persimmon, and Toasted (bottom row) as well as a All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade
MY REVIEW:
So like I said before, all-in-all I was very impressed with everything. The packaging is sleek, the brushes are SUPER soft and good quality for the price ($3 each or $30 for the 11-piece set). If you dont have any of the studio brushes I would highly recommend getting some, especially if they have another 50% off Studio because then the 11-piece set is only $15. Who can beat that?! The brush cleaner I have yet to try but once I do, I will do a review and let you guys know what I think. I really have yet to try any of these products, except the Shimmering Facial Whips which I personally LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! However I did do a quick swatch of some of the stuff, just to give you guys (and myself) an idea. And let me apologize in advance for the crappy photos, the lighting in my bathroom was horrible and I could not get anything better than these. SORRY GUYS!
Here are the Studio Blushes in Candid Coral (on left) and Tickled Pink (on Right)
In the pan, they both look absolutely gorgeous and the texture is great for such an inexpensive blush, However...
Swatchs: Candid Coral (left) Tickled Pink (right)
I was a little disappointed in the color pay off these blushes. But then again what do I expect with $3 blushes? They are a little light for my liking but I don't want to speak too soon since I have yet to try them on my face. I do like the texture and I think they will be good for everyday use since they aren't too vibrant.
Blush & Bronzer duo (far left) and Golden Bronzer shades
On the other hand, the Blush and Bronzer duo along with the Studio Bronzer was a pleasant surprise. The color pay off is gorgeous and just the right amount. I have read some people thought the bronzer in the duo was a bit dark for fair skin, but I have fair skin and I love it. As long as you go light and dont cake it on your face, the color is gorgeous for contouring.
(Left to Right) All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade, Shimmering Facial Whip in Toasted, Citrus,
Golden Peach, Persimmon, and Lilac Petal
As I've mentioned, these are my favorites. I know alot of people might disagree and say they are too shimmery or hard to blend, but to me, they are pure love. With the right brush, they blend perfectly and give your face a beautiful glow with just the right amount of shimmer. I used Persimmon before as a blush and its so pretty especially on my skintone. It gives me that natural flush that can't always be achieved with blush powders. These definitly get an A++
My only regret thus far, is that I didn't order more. I've heard good things about their Mineral lipsticks and I think they have a new Studio Pressed Powder that just came out (go figure right after I already ordered). I might just have to place another small order with them and get a few more goodies. Until next time, Glam it up and God Bless!
